Information in english
Fullersta Gård is the center of visual arts in Huddinge Municipality, close to Stockholm. Here, visitors take part of temporary and permanent exhibitions, art educational activities, lectures and a cafe.
The manor is beautifully situated in Fullersta park just a few minutes’ walk from central Huddinge with commuter trains and a bus station. The history of Fullersta Gård dates back to 1651 and the manor is one of the very first constructions in the area.
Permanent exhibitions spaces upstairs
In the exhibition area upstairs we currently have three exhibitions on display presenting painter Peter Dahl, writer Karin Boye and caricaturist Ewert Karlsson (EWK) – three artists who all for a period of time in their life lived and worked in Huddinge while they also were important cultural figures in Sweden.
Karin Boye was a poet, prose writer, translator, public debater, journalist and peace activist. She is considered one of Sweden’s great modernists. The exhibition features her own library, drawings, furniture, photographs, literature and correspondence.
EWK’s masterful ability to portray people and phenomena through political drawings made him a name outside Sweden’s borders. A larger collection of his production can be found at Arbetets museum in Norrköping.
Peter Dahl (1934-2019), the Swedish artist of Norwegian origin, is today considered one of our greatest contemporary artists. He has also written a number of fictional novels and autobiographies. The collection at Fullersta Gård features paintings, sculptures and drawings.
Current temporary exhibition
The exhibition “Handen och håret” – The Hand and the Hair with the artists Inez Jönsson and Dina Isæus-Berlin presents two, at first glance, relatively different artistic practices side by side. The exhibition title alludes to the relationship between tools and materials. Like the train of thought that our sensory impressions lead us into, motives emerge as wordless testimonies. Hand and hair combine two different types of energies and tempos in art. The intuitive and contrastrich in Dina’s work is set against Inez’s reflective silence. Inez Jönsson studied at Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm and is represented by Belenius gallery. Dina Isæus-Berlin studied at Konstfack University of Arts, Craft and Design in Stockholm and is represented by Wetterling Gallery.
Konstverkstan is Fullersta Gård’s educational workshop aimed at kids and teens, from preschool to high school. In a creative environment, children have access to materials and tools for creation. Through different themes, we want to promote curiosity and playfulness. Themes are most often related to the exhibitions that are shown at Fullersta Gård and the techniques that are taught vary based on the current theme / technique used by the exhibiting artist.
